Teachers Are Heroes Citigroup Team Mentor Grants
The Consortium of Florida Education Foundations is pleased to announce that the Consortium has once again joined with the Citigroup Companies in Florida, the Governor's Office, and the Florida Department of Education in the second year of the state wide initiative called Teachers are Heroes, a program that honors and supports teachers and teaching.
One of the key elements in the Teachers are Heroes initiative is the Team Mentor Grants, sponsored by Citigroup. The grants provide an arena where new and veteran teachers collaboratively explore exciting teaching opportunities through student learning projects, facilitate professional development, and create more dynamic relationships between new and veteran teachers.
Citigroup has also sponsored the creation of this new section of the Consortium's website (www.cfef.net) that provides access to the Results of the grants and allows the teachers in the Team/Mentor Grants to share their grant successes.
We would like to thank Citigroup for their generosity and vision in sponsoring a program that redefines the teaching profession and emphasizes the challenges, rewards and importance of being a teacher in today's public schools.
