Highlights of Foundation Programs:
The St. Lucie County Education Foundation, a non-profit organization founded 17 years ago, promotes and celebrates excellence in education in public schools by providing funding for student scholarships for higher education and classroom grants for teachers to implement innovative education projects for their students.
2006-2007 Foundation Highlights:

Awarded over $116,000 in classroom and school-wide grants to educators in the St. Lucie County public school system.

Awarded over $78,000 in scholarships in St. Lucie County.
Annual Foundation Events:

The Education Foundation hosts the annual Foundation Ball each year. During this black tie gala, guests enjoy dinner, dancing, and silent and live auctions often showcasing the talented work of students and teachers. The funds raised from the Foundation Ball benefit St. Lucie County students and teachers.

The Education Foundation hosts the Night of the Stars each year. During this celebration of excellence in education, teachers and professional staff are honored for their educational contributions. The Teacher of the Year, the Outstanding First Year Teacher of the Year, the Distinguished Minority Educator of the Year, and the School Related Employee of the Year are named.

The Education Foundation manages the scholarship program and honors recipients at a a ceremony in May.
