Mission Statement:  To serve as a direct support organization for Marion County Pubic Schools, mobilizing and providing financial and human resources resulting in improvement in student outcome, enhanced curriculum and overall awareness and support of public education through business and community involvement.

Highlights of foundation programs:

 

Take Stock in Children:  Mentors and scholarships help well-deserving, low-income students realize their educational hopes and dreams.

 

Black Stallion Literacy Project: Two books and the opportunity to touch a horse promotes a love of reading for all Marion County public school first and fourth graders.

 

Teacher to Be Scholarships:  Scholarships for non-instructional Marion County Public School personnel to help them reach their dreams of becoming teachers.

 

Golden Apple Teacher Recognition Program:  The opportunity to honor outstanding Marion County Teachers by recognizing and rewarding excellence in teaching.

 

Grants for Great Ideas:  Funding for creative and academically challenging grants helps teachers and principals provide curriculum-enhancing projects for their schools.
